Overview

The Imports Log within MangoApps provides detailed information about content uploads and learning materials imported into the system. This feature is especially useful for tracking the status of imported courses, SCORM files, and other learning resources.


Key Features of the Imports Log:

The Imports Log provides several key details for each imported item:

File Name: This column displays the name of the file that was imported. It includes the title of courses, SCORM packages, and other learning resources.

Import Type: Indicates the type of the imported content. The two most common import types are:

  • SCORM: Used for importing SCORM packages for learning management.

  • Course Info: This includes data such as insights, learner tracking, and other course-related information.

Imported By: Shows the user who performed the import action. It helps in tracking who was responsible for the file upload.

Imported On: The date and time when the import took place. This helps with tracking the timeline of content updates and ensuring compliance with deadlines.

Status: Displays the result of the import action. Some common statuses include:

  • Completed: The file was successfully imported.

  • Imported (X/X): Indicates how many items from a batch import were successfully uploaded (e.g., 11/11 Imported).

  • Failed: If the import was unsuccessful, the system will show Failed along with an error indicator (a small information icon ⓘ), which can be hovered over for further details.

Action: Depending on the import type and status, some files may have a Download button, allowing you to download and review the imported file. This is helpful when troubleshooting issues or confirming the content uploaded.


List of Possible Events

This log records the status and details of Learn (LMS) and Recognition imports into MangoApps. By default, logs are retained for the last 365 days. These imports include:

  • SCORM Courses Import: Records the import of SCORM courses, including details such as file name, importer, import date, and status. For failed imports, the reason for failure is recorded to help admins take corrective action.

  • Courses Info Import: Logs all imported course information, including file name, importer, import date, and status. Admins can also download the imported course info as an XLS file.

  • Course Users History Import: Records the import of user history for LMS courses, capturing details like file name, importer, import date, and status. Admins can drill down to view specific user history records, including email address, employee ID, course ID, course name, and status (success or failure). Reasons for failure are provided to assist in corrective actions. Admins can also download the imported user history as an XLS file.

  • Reward Points Import: Records the import that allocates reward points to managers for distribution to employees. It includes details such as file name, importer, import date, and status. Admins can view specific allocation records, including the employee's email address, employee ID, reward points added or removed, and the success or failure status. Reasons for any failures are provided to assist with corrective actions. The reward points import history can also be downloaded as a CSV file.


Filtering and Searching Imports:

The Import Log interface allows you to filter and search for specific imports:

File Name: You can search for a particular file by entering its name in the "File Name" search box.

Date Range: Select a date range using the "Logs Between" field to view imports within a specific timeframe. Simply input the start and end dates.

Item Type: Choose between specific types of items (e.g., Learn or Recognition) using the "Item Type" dropdown to refine your search.

Import Type: You can also filter by the import type (e.g., SCORM, Course Info) to see specific types of imports.

Search: After entering your desired criteria, click the Search button to apply the filters and view the results.


Retention Policy

MangoApps retains Import Log entries from the date of domain creation, and these logs are never deleted. Network admins can access them at any time.


Troubleshooting Import Failures

If an import shows as Failed, click on the information icon ⓘ next to the status for more details. This might help you identify why the import failed and how to correct it. Common reasons for failures include incorrect file formats or network.


The Imports Log is an essential tool for managing and tracking the upload of learning materials and other content. By effectively using filters, reviewing import statuses, and troubleshooting failures, admins can ensure a smooth flow of content into their learning management system. This log provides full visibility into who imported what, when, and with what result, offering greater control and oversight over the content management process.
