In MangoApps, network admins can control the display of profile sections, fields, and custom information via the Admin Portal. This includes managing pre-shipped profile sections and enabling or disabling custom fields based on company needs.
List of all pre-shipped sections, profile fields and custom fields for the People module within the domain. Mark the checkbox for the sections/fields to enable them on the users' profile on the User Portal. If unmarked, the section/profile field is NOT displayed on the User Portal for any user.
Drag-and-drop the profile fields to change the order they will appear on on a user's profile page. You can move profile fields to different sections by dragging-and-dropping them in sections. Each field displays a unique icon after the last character to depict the edit mode of the field.
No icon: Editable field. Any user can edit the content for the field in their profile via the User Portal.
Public - visible to all users on the domain. OR
Private - visible only to the user and the network admins.
Users CAN override the admin-selected default visibility on the profile page.
There will be occasions when a user profile field is set to private, but there will be an associated widget with a public view in the domain. Below is an example of the interaction this will create. In this example, we use the Birthday field of a user profile.
When an employee, John Smith, sets his date of birth (DOB) as private on his profile, here's what happens:
What Doesn't Show:
Birthday Widget: John Smith will NOT appear in the upcoming birthdays widget visible to others.
Calendar: John Smith's birthday will NOT be displayed on the calendar, even under Everyone or Birthday filters.
Profile Page: John Smith's DOB will NOT be visible on his profile page to anyone.
What Still Happens (If the Birthday Automation is Enabled):
Story Collection Automation: Even with a private DOB, automated birthday story collection for John Smith will be triggered, and requests for stories from his peers or manager will be sent.
Birthday News Feed: An automated news feed wishing John Smith a happy birthday will be generated and shared with his followers.
Admins can disable the Birthday Automation if preferred, but by default, these automations continue regardless of a private birthday setting.
By default, the profile photo and first & last name fields are enabled to display in the profile and CANNOT be disable.
