Network admins have the capability to configure domain-wide default locale settings, ensuring a consistent user experience across the platform. These settings include the default date format, time format, time zone, and language for all users. From the Admin Portal, administrators can specify these defaults, which users can override if they prefer. The options available allow administrators to apply these settings universally to all existing and new users, or exclusively to new users, preserving the current preferences of existing users. Time and date functionality is crucial for ensuring that users operate in their preferred locale settings, enhancing usability and personalization. Overall, the capabilities mentioned here provide a balanced approach to maintaining organizational standards while supporting individual user preferences.
You can set domain-wide locale default settings such as date format, time format, time zone, and language for all users.
Set Default Date Format: Select the domain-wide default format for the date for all users. Network and guest users can choose to override this setting from the User Portal.
Set Default Time Format: Select the domain-wide default format for the time for all users. Network and guest users can choose to override this setting from the User Portal.
Set Default Time Zone: Select the domain-wide default time zone for all users. Network and guest users can choose to override this setting from the User Portal.
Set Default Language: Select the domain-wide default language for all users. Network and guest users can choose to override this setting from the User Portal.
Apply: Select the option to apply the settings for your domain users.
Apply these settings to all existing users and new users: Select to apply the settings for all existing users and new users signing up on your domain. This will override the locale settings selected by your existing users.
Apply these settings to new users only: Select to apply the settings for all new users signing up on your domain. This will NOT override the locale settings selected by your existing users. New users can choose to override these settings from the User Portal.
Save: Click the Save button to apply the chosen settings.
You can choose to change specific locale settings for your users by marking the checkbox for the relevant option. For example - to change only the default date format and time zone for all new users:
Mark the checkbox for Set Default Date Format.
From the Set Default Date Format drop-down, select the preferred date format.
Mark the checkbox for Set Default Time Zone.
From the Set Default Time Zone drop-down, select the preferred time zone.
Select the Apply these settings to new users only option.
Click the Save button to apply ONLY the locale settings for date format and time zone for new users.
Similarly, you can choose to modify selective locale settings using the checkbox for each option.
Yes, network and guest users can override the default locale settings configured by the network admin and change the date format, time format, time zone, and domain language as per their preference. To change the locale settings from the User Portal:
In the User Portal profile drop-down, click Change My Settings.
Click the Locale tab.
In the Locale Settings tab from the Set Default Date Format drop-down, select the preferred date format.
From the Time Format drop-down, select the preferred time format.
From the Time Zone drop-down, select the preferred time zone.
From the Set the language of your domain drop-down, select the preferred language for the domain. For example - select Spanish.
Click the Save button to apply the locale settings.
