Create a Project
Overview
Projects in MangoApps provide a structured workspace for managing tasks, collaborating with team members, and tracking progress towards specific goals. They are ideal for initiatives that require task assignments, deadlines, and milestone tracking. Creating a project ensures team members stay organized and on track.
Steps to Create a Project
1. Navigate to the Teams Section
From any page in MangoApps, click on Teams in the main menu.
Select Projects from the dropdown list.
2. Create a New Project
Click on Create Project.
3. Provide Project Details
Project Name: Enter a name that clearly represents the project’s purpose (e.g., Website Redesign, Product Launch).
Short Description: Provide a summary of the project’s objectives (limit: 2,000 characters).
Upload a Photo: Add an image or logo to represent the project.
Assign Categories: Choose relevant categories to help employees find the project easily.
4. Set Project Permissions
Public: Anyone in the network can join and participate.
Private: Users must be invited or request access.
Unlisted: Only invited members can view or find the project.
5. Set Default Membership Roles
Member: Users can participate and view content.
Admin: Users can manage project settings and permissions.
6. Configure Additional Settings
Assign Hashtags: Add searchable hashtags for easy discovery.
Select Modules: Enable or disable features such as file sharing, wikis, tasks, and calendars.
Set Start and Completion Dates: Define project timelines.
Choose a Time Zone: Ensure all deadlines align with team locations.
7. Save and Finalize
Click Save and Exit to complete the setup.
Alternatively, click Save and Continue to configure additional settings, such as custom fields.
Managing and Configuring the Project
Once created, project settings can be modified as follows:
Edit Project Details: Navigate to the project page and click on Edit.
Manage Membership: Add or remove users from the project.
Customize Layout: Adjust project modules, appearance, and notifications.
Enable Integrations: Connect third-party tools for enhanced functionality.
