Add a Group

To create a group within workplace domain, navigate to the User Portal > Groups then click the Create Group button located on the top right of the screen.

You will be navigated to the Group Editor menu where you can enter the name for the group, as well as add a group photo, set the group category and configure group permissions.

MangoApps Workplace allows for the creation of Public, Private, and Unlisted groups.

  • Public - Anyone with access to the network can join this group, participate and view messages.

  • Private - Users must be invited by a current member or admin, or request access in order to view messages and participate.

  • Unlisted - This is an unlisted group. Only the creator and the invited users can view it. Unlisted groups will not appear in the All filter. Admins do not automatically have any access to this type of group.

Click Save & Continue to move on to the next step.

Now, you have the option to configure the modules available in the group. This options does not affect any modules available along the users main left hand navigation menu.

Toggle ON the modules you would like to be available in the group. Click the Settings button next to the toggle switch to further configure the appearance and permissions of select modules.

The available modules may differ from the above image based on your purchased Workplace Plan.

Once your group modules have been configured, click Save & Exit.

Upon exiting, you will be navigated to your new group. Use the Group Tools and Admin Tools to invite users, edit the group, and more.

If you have enabled Chats for the group, users can IM the group directly or through the Chat Messenger.
