# Utilizing Your Newsfeed

### The Newsfeed and You

Sharing an update in the Newsfeed is a quick and efficient way to communicate with your followers and teams. It allows you to share information, ask questions, or collaborate without the need to CC multiple individuals or teams.

By using the Newsfeed, you can keep everyone in the loop with minimal effort.

### How to Share an Update <a href="#how-to-share-an-update" id="how-to-share-an-update"></a>

To share an update, start by composing your message using one of two methods: the top text field located at the top of the Newsfeed module or the Universal Compose Box found in the top right-hand corner of the interface.

Next, choose your audience. You can select whether your update will be visible to all of your followers or to a specific team. If you opt to share with a team, you also have the option to CC additional teams or individuals.

When selecting team visibility, a dropdown menu allows you to choose between making your update visible to all members of the selected team, **which includes guest users and those who are not following you**, or restricting visibility to Network Users Only, ensuring that only those within your network can view the update.

After choosing your audience, it’s time to compose your message. Enter your update in the message field, and feel free to enhance it by adding text, GIFs, or emoticons. You can also attach documents, images, or links by using the attachment button beneath the text field.

Lastly, if you want to track whether your update has been read by the recipients, check the Read Receipt box. This feature is particularly useful for ensuring that important information has been seen by your audience.
