The Mango Recorder allows users to edit videos with ease, offering features such as trimming, annotations, and name or tag modifications. Users can review trimmed videos before applying changes or revert to the original video to undo all trims and annotations. Annotations can be added to any video frame during or after recording by selecting "Edit Video" from the gallery. Video names and tags can also be modified directly by right-clicking on the desired video in the gallery.
The Video Edit Toolbar provides a suite of editing tools accessible from the top toolbar after capturing a video. While the toolbar is available for both video and screenshot captures, not all tools are compatible with both formats, offering tailored functionality depending on the type of capture.
The Shapes section enables users to add shaped annotations to video captures. Available options include drawing a rectangle, ellipse, line, or freehand drawing with the pencil tool.
The color of these shapes can be chosen in the Colors section.
In this section, users can customize the Stroke and Fill colors for selected annotations. The Stroke option determines the primary outline color of the annotation, while the Fill option sets the background color for filled shapes, such as boxes. Additionally, the Fill option can be adjusted to transparent if no background color is desired.
Click the color box next to each option to choose the desired color via the following options:
Quick Color Selection Panel: A dropdown menu showing a grid of predefined colors for both Stroke and Fill options. Click the option labeled More Colors >> for additional color choices.
Advanced Color Picker Dialog: A more detailed interface that allows users to select from a wide range of colors. It includes:
A grid of Basic Colors.
A section for Custom Colors where users can define and save their custom color preferences.
A color spectrum for precise selection using sliders or input fields for Hue, Saturation, and Luminosity (HSL), as well as RGB values.
Users can further customize annotations with the following options:
Click on any annotation in the edit field to modify its size as needed.
The Edit section provides tools for managing video length and restoring original content.
The annotation timeline in the left-hand sidebar allows users to manage and review video annotations. It displays a vertical list of annotated frames with thumbnails and timestamps, enabling quick navigation.
Users can preview the video with annotations, adjust their timing using the Show object between editor by selecting individual annotations, and edit or reposition them directly in the main video area. The start and end time sliders offer precise control over when annotations are displayed. This intuitive interface helps ensure annotations are clear, relevant, and contribute to a well-structured and engaging video presentation.
Navigating Annotated Frames: Use the annotated timeline to navigate between frames. Click on any frame thumbnail to jump directly to that point in the video.
Previewing the Video: Press the Preview Video button to play the video with all active annotations.
Adjusting Annotation Timings: Select a frame and click the timing icon or click the frame to open the Show object between editor. Use the sliders or input fields to adjust when the annotation appears and disappears in the video.
Adding or Editing Annotations: In the main video area, annotations can be edited or moved as needed. Ensure the annotation's timing aligns with the context of the video.
Reviewing Changes: After making changes, use the preview option to ensure that the annotations appear correctly and do not overlap inappropriately.
Once edits have been made to the video capture, select your preferred Save method.
Pointer: The default tool in the edit menu, enabling users to select items within the edit field and access further customization options.
Text: Use this tool to add a text box annotation to the video. The stroke and fill colors can be designated in the Colors section.
