The Other section in the Capture dropdown menu offers various options for creating and editing visual content. Users can capture an image directly from their webcam, create a movie or GIF file, or start a new image within the recorder editor. Additionally, they can paste a copied image from the clipboard and make edits using the recorder editor.
The Create a New Image option in the Other category is currently not available for the Mac version.
Users can use this option to take a screenshot of their webcam footage. It is particularly useful for tasks like sharing a snapshot of their setup or environment with IT or support teams for troubleshooting or quickly capturing a photo for a profile picture on social media, professional platforms, or internal applications.
The Create Movie or GIF option, allows users to turn a series of static image files into a movie or GIF file. With the help of the built-in editor, users can further customize their creation by adding annotations, shapes, and other visual enhancements.
To get started, click the Add Image button at the center of the editor field. After selecting a file, it will appear in the editor field as well as the timeline side bar on the left hand side of the editor. Click + Add More Images at the bottom of the timeline to add more images.
Arrange the images as the will appear in the playback sequence by dragging and dropping them in the timeline.
Click the pencil icon at the top of a frame to customize its timing or to delete it from the timeline.
The editor toolbars at the top of the interface offer a range of tools to enhance the video or GIF:
Actions: Undo, redo, and other general editing functions.
Shapes: Add shapes like rectangles, circles, or lines to highlight areas of interest.
Annotations: Insert text annotations to provide context or explanations.
Effects: Apply effects such as highlights or blurs to emphasize or obscure parts of the image.
Canvas Properties: Adjust the background color, canvas size, or aspect ratio.
Formatting Options: Change font styles, colors, and stroke thickness to customize the look of the annotations and shapes.
Once satisfied, use the preview option to ensure the animation appears as intended.
Finally, save the video or GIF to the desired location.
Use this option to create an image from scratch using the editing tools provided by Mango Recorder. When selected, users will start with a blank white canvas, which can be drawn on using the shapes and annotation tools, augmented with the effects tools, etc.
Users can select this option to use Mango Recorder tools to edit an image file copied to their clipboard.
