Capture Video

With Mango Recorder you can record quick videos of your screen and cam.

Capture video

  1. From Capture, select the Capture Video.

  2. Choose the region you want to record, such as Screen only, Screen and Camera and Camera only.

    • Screen only: You can capture only screen.

    • Camera: You can only capture images from the camera.

    • Screen and Camera: You can capture both screen and camera (pic).

  3. Choose the layout from the following:

    • Full Screen

    • Window

    • 1024 x 768

    • 1280 x1024

    • 1680 x 1050

    • 1920 x 1080

    • Custom size

Start Recording

Click start recording and a countdown timer 3..2..1 starts the recording for all types of video recording.

Recording Tools

A small control panel related to video recording only will be shown on the left edge of the screen with following options and in disabled mode:

  • Timer- It will change when video recording starts.

  • Stop - to stop recording.

  • Restart - to restart recording.

  • Pause - to pause recording.

  • Resume Recording: This will resume paused recording.

  • Trash icon: To delete/cancel the recording.

Video Quality Options:

The average quality for videos recorded using the Chrome extension is 720p which translates roughly into 1280×720 pixels. However, this will vary depending on some factors local to your device, which include:

  • Monitor/screen resolution

  • Internet connection

  • Quality of your webcam

Screen and camera bubble recording

You can capture video of your screen & camera in full screen or a window in pre-defined sizes or a custom size (under Capture > Capture Video).

Choose from options inside recording settings for camera, microphone and video resolution (under Capture > Capture Video > Recording Setting).

  • Camera settings include

    • HD camera - This will enable a camera bubble to appear in the recording alongside your screen.

    • Profile image - This will show your MangoApps profile picture to appear alongside your screen.

    • None - No camera bubble will be shown in the screen recording.

  • Microphone settings include

    • The microphone attached to your laptop will be automatically detected.

    • None - If you don't want to record audio or don't have a microphone.

A short time before recording starts to give the presenter a moment to get started with an impact.

The presenter can move around the camera bubble to any part of the screen at any time during their recording.

User's list of recorded videos is available in the app under the videos (& all) tab.

Video instant trimming & annotations

  • Actions to 'Trim video' before saving & sharing the recorded video are available in the recorder toolbar.

  • You can trim the video from the beginning and/or from their end by dragging the handles.

  • In trim mode, the creator and play the trimmed video before applying the changes

  • The video can be trimmed any number of times.

  • The ability to revert to the original video is available before saving the video. This will revert for all the trimming & annotations that are done to the video.

  • The ability to add annotations to any frame of the video is available.

Video Editing

To annotate a previously captured video with Mango Recorder, navigate to the Mango Recorder Video Gallery, right-click on the video you wish to add annotations and click on Edit Video.

  • Edit Image/Video: This will open image/video in an editor.

  • Edit Name & Tags: This will open name & tags popup as is today.

Clicking on edit would open the video in the Mango Recorder video editor, you can now add annotations to the same.

Recording Settings

Choose from the options inside the recording settings for the camera, microphone, and video resolution.

Camera settings include:

  • HD camera - This will enable a camera bubble to appear in the recording alongside your screen.

  • Profile image - This will show your MangoApps profile picture to appear alongside your screen.

  • None - No camera bubbles will be shown in the screen recording.

Microphone settings include:

  • The microphone attached to your laptop will be automatically detected and listed here.

  • None - If you don't want to record audio or don't have a microphone.

  • Pixel setting: Select different resolution while capturing videos.

Click Continue and you are ready for capturing the video.

  • Support to select the correct desktop when you have a multi-desktop setup.

  • You can also Capture videos using shortcut keys configured in your Settings under the Hot-Keys tab.

  • A short time before recording starts to give the presenter a moment to get started with the impact.

  • Presenters can move around the camera bubble to any part of the screen at any time during their recording.

  • The user's list of recorded videos is available in the app under the videos (& all) tab.

  • Default keys are: Capture video (ALT + V)
