How can a user upload files to a MangoApps folder via email?

MangoApps users may need to upload files to a MangoApps folder via email. This is to ensure that all the work related files are on the MangoApps application and can be forwarded using your email client.

Files module has a setting to allow users to upload files to a folder using its email address. By default, this setting is ON/enabled.Learn how to allow uploading of files via email here.

How can I search for a document in MangoApps?

One can easily find a specific file in MangoApps using our convenient search box feature. You can search by file name, by entering text appearing within the file, or by a specific field, such as tags or file dimensions.Learn how to use our search functionality here.

How can I embed external sources into MangoApps?

MangoApps allows you to easily pull in content from external sources and embed the content on any Wiki, Page, or Post within MangoApps. This can be used to embed your Google calendar, company stock chart, or any other web service offering iFrame embed code. Once you copy the iFrame code >> select the 'Source' option while you are editing the wiki and paste within it and save it.

How do I import files in bulk?

To upload an entire folder structure to MangoApps, you can use MangoApps for Windows or MangoApps for Mac with Sync.

Download the MangoApps for Windows or Mac applications, configure sync and move the folder you want to sync inside the MangoAppsSync folder in the appropriate location. Learn more on file sync here.

What is the easiest way to export files in bulk?

There are couple of ways you can achieve this.

  • You can use the MangoApps file sync client to sync all the folders you would like to Export. Refer the article link here for everything you need to know about MangoApps Sync

  • You could also right click on any folder from the 'Files' module and download the entire folder / sub-folder.

Document approval workflow

The Document approval workflow feature allows approval processes to be implemented on any file published in MangoApps. The published file versions retain visibility, and the workflows themselves can be edited and applied as needed to achieve the desired mix of transparency, collaboration, and process enforcement for each document. How can I share MangoApps files & folder publicly?

You can share files with anyone, even non-MangoApps users, by getting the public link to any file. Once you get the link, you can send it by email, Facebook, Twitter, instant message, social networks — wherever you want. Who can see the documents that I upload to MangoApps?

The user posting the document, controls the privacy settings with regards to that document. Privacy Settings on the communication that the document is attached to determine who can see the document that you upload. For example, if you attach a document to a public wall post to a colleague, then anyone can search for and find your document. However, if you attach a document to a private Project wall post then only you and the other members of the private project can see the document.

Similarly, privacy settings can be made on Teams such that no communication or document can be viewed by non-members. “Direct Messages” can be set to private and these privacy settings apply to document attachments as well.

How do I upload and share a document?

Share a document in MangoApps by attaching it to a communication feed. With every activity feed you post, you can choose to click the “Attach” link to share a document. The document is uploaded to MangoApps and can be searched for by the same people that can view the feed.

Working with external document repositories

Within MangoApps, you can connect to various external document repositories like Microsoft Sharepoint, Google Drive, Box, Dropbox. Learn how you can connect to such external document repositories here and also some frequently asked questions about such repositories here.

How do I avoid inundating team members with notifications after every intermediate wiki update?

As you keep editing and updating the wiki, you can simply uncheck the option 'Notify All Members' and then click on 'Save and Publish Now'. This will not generate a feed on the team wall, hence no notifications will be sent out to any member of the team or to everyone, in case you are creating a wiki outside of a team space.

With Media Library, users can see a preview key frame of videos or thumbnail of pictures they are allowed to see. Audio files shown alongside pictures and videos in the same grid denoted by an audio symbol. By seeing all the choices visually all at once, users can quickly recognize which files they want to view or listen to right from the Media Library rather than finding them in other locations in MangoApps by using Search or navigating to pages.Learn more on using the Media Gallery feature here.

You can email a link to a MangoApps document that does not require a user to log in. To send the public link first you will need to make the file Public.Learn how you can make a file public here.

How do I upload files to MangoApps?

To upload a file to MangoApps, you can share a document by attaching it to a communication feed. With every activity feed you post, you can choose to click the “Attach” link to share a document. The document is uploaded to MangoApps and can be searched for by the same people that can view the feed.

How do I change the permissions on a MangoApps document and a folder?

The network administrator or the file owner can modify the share permissions of a file/folder using the 3-dot menu. Learn how to modify the permissions here.

What does each of the MangoApps document access tracking types mean?

Access Tracking types can be found on the File Details page with the “Tracking” sub-tab enabled for a document or a file.The possible Access Tracking Types and their meanings are:

  1. Uploaded – A user has created a new version or edited an existing version and put that version into the MangoApps Document Cloud.

  2. Downloaded – A user has retrieved a version of the document from the MangoApps Document Cloud and saved it to their local computer.

  3. Viewed – A user has looked at a version of the document in the MangoApps Document Cloud.

  4. Restored – An owner or editor has restored a previous version to be the current version.

  5. Shared – A user has shared this file.

  6. Share Permissions – If files permission has changed for a user

  7. Checked In – The file has been uploaded by a user after checking out

  8. Checked Out – The file has been downloaded by a user to check out

  9. approval workflow – Initiate Document Approval has been activated.

  10. Moved – Files which have been moved from one location to another

  11. Public Shared – Files which have been shared publicly.

How do I move my wiki to another group or project?

You can move a wiki between projects or groups, as well, move within the same parent structure. Learn more on how to move a wiki here.

How can I set up file repository in MangoApps?

You can sign into your SharePoint Server, Office365, DropBox, OneDrive, Probox, Windows File server, Box and Google Drive document repositories. You never need to remember where you saved your files. Find them from one screen in MangoApps and share them in updates with your colleagues.Learn how you can configure external file repositories here.

How do I filter wikis in MangoApps?

To filter wikis to “My Wikis” or “All Wikis”:

  1. Choose “Wikis” from the left navigation bar

  2. Find the drop-down menu on the top right.

How do document dimensions (custom Field) work?

How do I add multiple documents to MangoApps on the web?

Using the 'Files' feature, you can select multiple documents to be uploaded to your MangoApps platform. Learn how to upload files here.

How do I use my Amazon S3 account for document storage?

The Files module enables you to have a secure document management system in your company. It helps you organize, share, and keep all your work files across different devices in sync. To configure your Amazon S3 account as a primary file storage, follow the steps here.

Users with edit privileges can add related content to any file, post or wiki. To add related content:

  1. Open the wiki.

  2. Scroll below and under “Related Content” section of the wiki, you can attach/add file, wiki, posts, forms and trackers

  3. Once you’ve chosen the related content, choose the “Add” button and add the content to the wiki.

How do I delete the default team folders in my files and folders list?

The folders you see in the Folders list when you first create your domain are created from the default groups we add to every domain. If you would like to remove those you will need to delete the groups that are associated with the folders. This can all be done from the Admin portal.

Can I print my document with the document viewer?

MangoApps document viewer does not have an option to print the document however you can download the document and then print it.

What is the maximum file size the MangoApps document viewer can display?

There is NO limit on file size or page size. Larger files may load slowly depending on your internet connection.

What browsers does the MangoApps document viewer work in?

MangoApps Document Viewer will work on 99% of the world’s browsers as long as JavaScript is enabled. The shortened list of modern browsers that are certified with MangoApps Document Viewer includes: Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Apple Safari.

What user actions are available in the MangoApps document viewer?

Depending on the document file type, user actions include:

  1. Toggle the side bar

  2. Find in document

  3. Previous page

  4. Next page

  5. Jump to a desired page

  6. Zoom in or out using the Zoom Slider

  7. Download

What is the MangoApps document viewer?

The MangoApps Document Viewer allows users to view any kind of document as fast as possible without downloading or installing anything on the client side. The MangoApps Document Viewer uses state-of-the-art conversion methodologies to render documents on the fly. Included with the viewer is a unique set of user actions to render, enrich, and dynamically view and act on content.

MangoApps ships with an inline document viewer for opening more than 45 file types. The end user does not need to download or install any additional software normally required by other document viewers. You can zoom in, view, and copy information from documents right from the web or desktop.

How can I download an entire folder hierarchy from MangoApps?

Folders with sub-folders and their respective documents can be downloaded as a ZIP archive from MangoApps. Then, you can unzip the archive to your local machine to maintain the same hierarchy that is in MangoApps.

To download a document folder hierarchy:

  1. Click on the “Files” from the Left Navigation Bar.

  2. Find the folder is at the top of the hierarchy that you want to download.

  3. Right click and select “Download this folder”.

4. A (.)ZIP file is downloaded to your “Downloads” folder.

How can I create folder hierarchy within MangoApps?

You can “nest” folders within folders to organize your documents into a hierarchy. To create a nested folder:

  1. Go to “Files” from the left navigation Bar.

  2. Click the “Create New Folder” button on the top right of the screen.

  3. Name the folder in the “Create Folder” Box.

  4. Select the “Parent Folder”.

    a. Optionally set permissions for the folder. You can choose to keep the same permissions as the parent folder.

    b.Click “Done” button to finish creating your folder.

Alternatively, You can right click on the parent folder under “Files” and select “New Folder”

What type of files can be attached to my microblogs?

File of any file type and any size can be attached to microblogs, including documents, spreadsheets, pictures, videos, applications and system files. Files will not be blocked by MangoApps because of size or file type.

Please ensure that the files that you are trying to attach does not have special characters like : { I am running a few minutes late; my previous meeting is running over. etc under file name.

How can I upload multiple attachments at once?

Each communication in MangoApps can have multiple attachments associated with it, and attachments can be added by Drag & Drop. While one file is uploading, another can be attached. Just click the “Attach” link to browse to your file and begin the upload process. Or drag it directly into your communication.

Can I download all my documents at once?

Documents can be downloaded at the MangoApps folder level when you want to download more than one document at once. Folders need to be downloaded one by one. So if the documents that you want to download are scattered between folders, they must be downloaded one by one. However, if documents have bee added to specific projects or groups, the group folder can be downloaded with all the group’s documents at once.

To download a document folder, click on “Files” and find the folder you want to download, then right click to choose “Download this Folder” to start the download.

Is there a file size limit for document uploads?

MangoApps web interface allows a file upload of up to a max of 5GB/per file. With desktop/mac file sync client you can do file upload of up to 10GB/per file. Mobile apps today allow an upload of up to 200MB/per file

How do I upload and share a document in Mangoevents?

Share a document in MangoEvents by attaching it to a activity stream feed. Each time you compose a feed, you can click the “Attach” link to share a document. The document can be searched by people that can view the feed.

How can I download a specific document?

You can download any file using the 3 dot menu beside each file name. Refer screenshot for details as you see the downloads option from the 'Files' section. All other location where files are attached shows the 3-dot menu will show the download option.

How Can I Share a File or Folder with Colleagues?

You can a share a folder from any of the teams (groups, department, projects), My Drive, Network Drive, refer steps here;

  1. Click on Files from the left hand navigation.

  2. Locate the file or folder you wish to share.

  3. From the “Action Icons” against the file or folder you wish to share click on “Share”.

Refer here on how you can share a file when it is opened. Once you share, you can share with specific colleagues and also provide the required share permissions.

Can I attach a document to a team(group, project or department)?

When composing a status update within a Team or replying to a feed within a team, users can attach documents either when composing the update or replying to a feed within the project wall.Team members can also upload files within the team space using the 'Files' feature within it.

How can you view older versions of files?

To access older file versions in the User Portal, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Files section.

  2. Locate the file you want to view and open it.

  3. Click on the "Advanced tools" option, represented by three dots.

  4. Select "View older versions" from the dropdown menu.

  5. A list of previous versions of the file will appear.

  6. Click on the three dots next to the version file you want to view, download, or delete.

Can you export a wiki?

To export a wiki, follow these steps:

  1. Select the wiki you want to export.

  2. Go to the Wiki Tools menu.

  3. Choose either "Get Wiki Link" or "Get Wiki PDF."

  4. By following these steps, you can successfully export a wiki.
